Father: Samuel STRATTON (14 December 1862 - 29 January 1932)
Mother: Rowena REYNOLDS (14 September 1865 - 11 May 1931)

Bruce was educated at Mt. Hunter Public School. His occupation was Farmer when he enlisted at Camden in August 1916 and served in the 60th Battalion A.I.F.

He departed Sydney on the 'Afric' 3 November 1916 and arrived in France via England on 21 March 1917.

Bruce's cousin (Private 2580) Percy Sydney Raymond Brain died 1916 at Pozieres.

Bruce was wounded in action (gunshot to right arm) 12 May 1917 from which he recovered and was back with his battalion 10 June 1917.

Private Bruce STRATTON was again wounded in action with gunshot wounds to both legs and both hands on 25 September 1917. He was treated at the 3rd Canadian Casualty Clearing Station and admitted to the 12th General Hospital Rouen on 27 September 1917 where he died at 8am on 28th September age 20.
